The 1900 New Orleans Mint quarter is notorious for being poorly struck, and this has added to rarity of examples grading F through XF. Mint State coins reveal this incompleteness of strike all the more, and the pool of available specimens is fairly small. Gems are quite rare. There are no conventional varieties for this issue, but it does exist with several combinations of the old and new hubs described under the 1900(P) entry. Most seem to be of the 1/2 pairing, but this issue also is found with dies paired 2/2 and 2/3. Collectors have thus far shown little interest in these hub combinations.Mehr lesen
