The Denver Mint's production of half dollars rebounded just a bit this year, but the total was still reflective of the post-war recession. Enough examples were saved by collectors and habitual speculators that gems are plentiful through MS-66. Coins grading higher are elusive, and the quality of strike varies from one piece to the next.
