With the San Francisco no longer producing coins, the much larger Denver Mint made up the difference by stepping up its own production of dimes in 1956. While there are thousands of Mint State survivors, these are often times plagued by numerous small marks, probably as the result of having been trading by the bag quantity for years before becoming desirable as singles. Thus, the certified population drops off rapidly above MS 66. On the plus side, the generally sharper coins typical of Denver have provided a good percentage of FT specimens. The two RPM varieties known for 1956-D dimes are of little interest beyond series specialists.Leer más
