This issue vies with 1925-S for the dubious distinction of being the most poorly made entry in the Mercury Dime series. Almost all 1925-D dimes are softly struck overall, with this being especially evident at their peripheries. The coin illustrated is typical in this respect and shows weakness at its centers as well as the extremities of all peripheral lettering. Examples of the 1925-D dime are scarce in all grades, with even heavily worn pieces rarely turning up in mixed lots of circulated Mercuries. Coins grading Fine and higher are all highly sought by collectors across the entire budget spectrum. Mint State examples at any grade are very scarce, and gems are among the few real rarities for this series.Leer más
