ONE DIME
Introducción de monedas
All non-proof Philadelphia Mint dimes struck 1863-67 are scarce, as the production of currency pieces was very low during these years. Indeed, a mere 11,000 1864 dimes were struck at Philly, these in addition to the 470 proofs. As the latter were instant collector items, they have survived in greater numbers, while the ordinary coins were quickly lost to time. Two die pairs were used to produce the proof dimes of 1864, and one of the reverse dies was transitional with the 1863 issue and reveals doubling on the value statement. Cameo examples are collectable, but those displaying Ultra Cameo contrast are extremely rare.Leer más
