ONE DIME
Introducción de monedas
With the price of silver steadily falling, millions of old silver coins returned to circulation from overseas and domestic hoards beginning in 1876. The frantic pace of minting new pieces sputtered to a near stop in 1878, and the 1878(P) dime is thus not comparable in rarity to those of the preceding three years. This issue is somewhat scarce in the higher circulated grades and in Mint State. Gems are quite elusive. Both Type 1 and Type 2 Reverses were used, coins displaying the former being very scarce. Gerry Fortin records four Type 1 die marriages and ten Type 2 marriages. These varieties, however, appear to be of interest only to specialists.Leer más
