Introducción de monedas
This is true of all dates, even those that are considered the most common issues. In 1847, the New Orleans Mint produced 571,500 of these coins, and this is the third highest mintage of any date produced from 1838 to 1866. In fact, there were only 21 dates with higher mintages in the entire Liberty Head Eagle series, including all dates through 1907! Given this relatively high mintage, the novice collector might be led to believe that this '47-O Eagle is a common issue in all grades. This is clearly not the case as a review of population and auction data will prove.
