Introducción de monedas

This Civil Rights Act of 1964 greatly expanded civil rights protections and outlawed discrimination based on race in public accommodations and led to desegregation in schools as well. In 2014, the United States Mint honored the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act with a silver dollar coin. The coin features designs emblematic of the fight for Civil Rights in the 1960's. A surcharge of $10 per coin was donated to the United Negro College Fund to allow them to pursue their purpose of providing greater opportunities in education for minorities. The issue only sold about a quarter of the maximum mintage, but did raise over $800,000 for the UNCF.Leer más
