A single die dated 1807 was reworked for use with 1808's coinage, and the underlying numeral 7 is plainly evident. This quite common variety seems to be known only with die cracks on both sides, and a coin lacking these flaws would be a rarity. Overton-101 is among the most common varieties of 1808, with numerous Mint State survivors and even some gems. The premium it carries over the regular date varieties is purely a function of popularity. It's an excellent entry for the type collector seeking to add a bit of flare to one's set.Leer más
