It was clearly an unintentional oversight when the Philadelphia Mint coined 1940 proof nickels with this obsolete reverse having indistinct features such as the wavy steps of Monticello. Examples are rather scarce, but they are not as rare as the 1939 proof nickel having the Reverse of 1940. Still, these coins do command a premium and are quite popular.Leer más
