Introducción de monedas

1925 was a year in which it seems that none of the mints were committed to making good nickels. The Denver Mint edition is usually found poorly struck on all high points, with the first two numerals of the date being particularly deficient.  Weakness on the bison's forehead and horn are also common. As is the case with so many nickels of the 1920s, the reverse dies are more likely to be found heavily worn and eroded, since these could be carried forth to the following year and used until they failed completely. Even some Mint State coins have indistinguishable mintmarks, so heavy is the die erosion. The strong prices across all grades for 1925 D nickels reflects both the popularity of this series and the difficulty in finding a nice example of this particular issue. Denver Mint coins never enjoyed the mystique of those from San Francisco, and there was no widespread hoarding of this issue from circulation.Leer más
