1915 D nickels are moderately scarce in the higher circulated grades and all levels of Mint State. Gems are seldom seen, and many are less than fully struck. It was around this time that die cracks became so common on Denver Mint coins, and this problem persisted through the late 1920s. It's unknown whether such cracks resulted from improper hardening of the dies or some other technical cause, but they are far more common on D Mint coins than those of the other mints. A bold repunched mintmark variety is known for 1915 D, one of the nicest for the entire series.Leer más
