Introducción de monedas

Like the Denver Mint 1927 nickel, the best that can be said of the 1927 S issue is that it comes better than the two preceding dates. Most are less than fully struck, but very poorly struck coins are not often encountered. The fields are sometimes a bit prooflike, probably as a consequence of the dies being repolished to eradicate clash marks. The coin illustrated is a superior specimen in all respects and quite rare as such. The certified population of gem 1927 S nickels is very small.  Problem-free examples are somewhat scarce in the higher circulated grades, but the hoarding that accompanied all S-Mint coins starting in the late 1930s has preserved enough pieces to meet collector demand.  Minor doubled-die varieties are known for both obverse and reverse, but they attract little interest.Leer más
