Introducción de monedas
The Carson City Mint nearly equaled its record production of quarter dollars from the previous year, but the coinage of 1877-CC came up a few hundred thousand pieces short. This is still a common issue across all grades, with even gem Mint State examples available for advanced collectors. All reverse dies were taken from the Type 2 hub, and all but one feature the Large CC mintmark of 1876. A single reverse is known displaying the Small CC of 1870-75. Though comprising a small minority of the 1877-CC quarters, this variety appears to have found little interest among collectors. More popular is the repunched date variety on which numerals 77 are duplicated south of the final date.Leer más
