Introducción de monedas

With the redundancy of quarter dollars at the Treasury and sub-Treasuries finally eradicated, full scale production of this denomination finally resumed in 1891. The Philadelphia Mint delivered its largest output of quarters since 1877, and 1891(P) is common across all grades. Most examples were poorly made, with weakness of strike and/or signs of die corrosion. Attempts to remove such corrosion or die wear through heavy polishing often eradicated shallower features of the dies. This large mintage required many dozens of die pairs, though few collectable varieties have surfaced. The most notable is one obverse on which the tops of duplicate numerals 89 are seen within the denticles below the date.Leer más
