Proof sales declined once again in 1906, falling to the 1904 level. While gems having the usual brilliant or faintly satiny devices are easily secured, Cameo pieces are exceedingly rare. Needles to say, there are no coins that could be labeled Ultra Cameo. If collectors protested this decline in quality, no such letters were published in numismatic journals.
