Introducción de monedas
A low mintage combined with poorly struck central features has made the 1909-O quarter dollar a challenging entry in this series. Examples are scarce to rare in all grades, with gems being among the rarest of 20th Century United States coins. There are no varieties for 1909-O, and the "doubled die" illustrated in David Lawrence's book appears to have simple strike doubling. The New Orleans Mint received no funds for coining operations in Fiscal Year 1910, which began July 1, 1909. There would be no more O-Mint coins, though this facility continued on as a federal assay office for another 20+ years.Leer más
