Introducción de monedas

This date is quite scarce in Mint State, with gems being exceedingly rare. Even circulated examples are scarce enough to command a premium over the several preceding dates. The coinage of 1822 quarter dollars was sporadic, with four deliveries recorded in February, June and December. Only a single obverse die was employed with two reverses to produce the two known marriages. Several 1822 obverse dies remained at the end of the year, and these account for the next three issues all being overdates. B-1 is common, while B-2 is moderately rare. The latter variety is quite popular, as the engraver absent-mindedly believed he was preparing a half dollar die. The denomination 25 C. thus had to be punched over the numerals 50!Leer más
