Quarter dollars dated 1837 are fairly common, with more than the usual number of Mint State pieces for this coin type. The quality of striking varies with this issue, so collectors will want to shop for more than just the grade. Three obverse dies were paired with four reverses, resulting in a total of six die marriages. Three of these featured a single reverse die that is also known for quarters dated 1835-36. Varieties B-1 through B-4 range from common to only slightly scarce, while B-5 is very scarce, and B-6 is a major rarity that was not discovered until 2000.Leer más
