A mintage this low, had it occurred earlier in this series, would have resulted in a very scarce to rare coin. As it is, these later issues were more likely to be preserved, especially after the arrival of coin boards in the mid 1930s. While 1912-S quarters are indeed scarce in the higher circulated grades, they are not truly rare. Mint State survivors are available through MS 65, but finer coins are quite rare. David Lawrence's book illustrates a repunched mintmark variety, but this attribution is subject to doubt.Leer más
