Introducción de monedas

Quarter dollar production enjoyed accelerated during 1806, and this is perhaps the most commonly seen date of its type. The mintage consists of four deliveries made from May 26 through July 7, mimicking the spring-summer coinage of 1805. Six obverse dies were paired in various combinations with eight reverse dies to create the 10 marriages known for this date. The overdate is Browning variety 1 (see following entry). Of the remaining marriages, B-2, -3 and -9 are common. B-4 through B-7, as well as B-10, are scarce, while B-8 is rare. 1806 quarter dollars are often selected by collectors to represent the Draped Bust/Heraldic Eagle type of 1804-07.  Mint State examples are scarce but not truly rare. Nice circulated examples are plentiful, but collectors are advised to avoid improperly cleaned or damaged pieces.Leer más
