This low mintage issue has long been acknowledged as the key coin in the Barber Half Dollar series. It tops the rarity list in all grades from rimless slicks up through Mint State. The latter are very rare and tend to be less lustrous than other San Francisco Mint halves of this period. The reason for this issue's sudden dip in mintage is unknown, but it's worth noting that no 1904-S quarter dollars were coined that year, and dime production was similarly low.Leer más
