With its high mintage the 1907-O half dollar is among the more common coins in the series across all grades through MS-64. Gems are available, though most display so-so luster and very poor strikes. In fact, this issue was named by David Lawrence as the worst struck of the series. The obverse die swelling known as "mumps" is seen more often with 1907-O than with other New Orleans halves.
