First struck in 1986, the Gold Eagle coin program is one of the world's most popular gold coin programs. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively. As gold continued to drop into 1998, once again leading to a huge increase in mintage. In fact, the mintage of the 1998 $10 bullion gold eagle was 186% higher than the previous year!
