Introduction des pièces de monnaie
The 1841 has a low mintage of 15,833 pieces, but while this small emission would send its value soaring if it was a branch mint issue, its status as a less collected Philadelphia Mint product has kept prices reasonable. The 1841 is also interesting as a three year subtype, the portrait was modified in 1840, and the Small Letters reverse was replaced in 1842. The 1841 is rare in all grades.
