A fair number of Mint State survivors are known for 1901-O, but these typically are a bit softly struck and have so-so luster. Gems are quite scarce. The coin illustrated is of exceptional quality. It features the new reverse hub, which is transitional for this issue. Several repunched date varieties are known for 1901-O dimes, all of them rather minor. Of far greater interest is the one variety on which the mintmark was first punched horizontally and then corrected.
