As is true of all denominations of USA proof coins for 1898, the dimes of this date were made with particular care as to their depth of Cameo contrast. This is perhaps the ideal type coin for a collector seeking a proof that has it all. This issue is relatively common in overall numbers, at least with respect to other proof Barber Dimes.
