This issue was widely hoarded by collectors from the 1940s onward, and heavily worn coins are common. Examples grading Fine and better, however, are rather scarce, especially without signs of cleaning. Mint State survivors are rare, with gems being extremely so. Most 1919-S half dollars are poorly struck and may display severe die erosion, as well. This can make lightly worn pieces grade lower than they should based on actual wear.En savoir plus
