Introduction des pièces de monnaie
This issue had one of the higher mintages for the Barber series, and 1901(P) halves are plentiful across all grades short of gem (MS-65 and higher). The typical specimen is lustrous and well struck. A new obverse hub debuted with this entry. The rim was narrowed a bit, exposing more of the denticles. The most distinction, however, was to Liberty's ear. Last modified in 1896 with tweaking of the central cartilage, this was made even more prominent, and Liberty's ear lobe was enlarged slightly. There are no varieties for 1901 Philadelphia Mint halves.En savoir plus
