This issue is generally quite satisfying aesthetically. Full strikes, brilliant fields and good contrast between fields and devices are the norm. 1896 is the first of several dates that benefitted from superior die preparation by the Philadelphia Mint, and Cameo examples are more often seen than for Barber Dimes of preceding years.
