As in most years of the Franklin type, it is the Denver Mint edition of the 1951 half dollar which is most often seen well struck. This extends to a greater percentage of FBL examples. An irony of this coin type is that the well struck pieces tend to have a greater number of contact marks, or simply reveal them more readily. 1951-D halves are quite rare in grades above MS-65. There appear to be no varieties for this issue, an oddity given the number of dies required for this fairly large mintage.続きを読む
