硬幣介紹
As the USA began to pay off its war debts by redeeming its bonds in gold, the value of paper currency rose to the point at which the Treasury anticipated parity with silver coin at any time. The move proved to be premature, as financial conditions the following year delayed this parity until 1875. 1872(P) dimes are more plentiful across all grades than Philadelphia Mint dimes of the preceding 10 years. Some 17 die marriages have been recorded for 1872(P) dimes, and among these are several obverses having obvious die punching errors and oddities. Also highly sought is a very dramatic doubled-die reverse in which the second impression was made almost completely inverted with respect to the first.閱讀更多
