硬幣介紹

This issue is noteworthy as having the lowest mintage of the Walking Liberty series. The recession of 1921-22 hit the agricultural community hardest, as the end of World War I led to a sharp drop-off in foreign demand for America's harvests. The prices for farm products, both domestically and internationally, remained low throughout the 1920s, a time of general prosperity for other sectors. This had an obvious effect on much of the Denver Mint's output, as its coins served the Heartland.  The typical 1921-D half dollar is noticeably better struck than its East Coast and West Coast cousins. Luster is also excellent on Mint State coins, though few of them are to be found. Gems are very rare.  As is the case with most early date Walking Liberty Halves, the variety listed in Bruce Fox's book is another case of simple strike doubling and not a doubled-die.閱讀更多
