Introduction of Coins
The 1895-S Morgan dollar had a relatively low mintage of only 400,000 pieces. Of these, many went directly into circulation a the time. Of those that didn't, many ended up in Las Vegas Casinos in the 1940's and 1950's. Due to this extensive circulation, this date is quite uncommon in uncirculated grades. Most tend to be quite baggy, and therefore tend to be in the MS63 to MS64 range. Gem coins are extremely rare and command a huge premium.Read More
