1993 was the eighth year of production for proof Silver Eagles. Sales were sluggish, and were almost 93,000 coins lower than the previous year. This was also the first year that Proof Silver Eagle production was moved to the Philadelphia Mint from San Francisco. With the move to Philadelphia came a large drop in quality.
