Introduction of Coins
The 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle is the key coin of the entire series. It was only available in a limited edition set which also contained proof versions of the $5, $10, $25, and $50 Gold Eagle coins. Due to the inclusion of the gold coins, the price of the set was quite expensive, which led to the low mintage. In fact, the next lowest mintage for a regular-issue Silver Eagle are the 2011-S burnished and 2011-P reverse proof coins from the ASE 25th Anniversary Set with mintages of 99,882 pieces each.Read More
