Introduction of Coins
The Silver Eagle bullion series was 22 years old in 2007. This date was also the final year of the original Silver Eagle reverse design. Some minor changes were made to the Silver Eagle hub in 2008, which is most easily seen with the addition of a tail on the "U" in "UNITED" on the reverse of the coin. As you can see, the 2007 coin above does not have that tail. This was also the year that the mint really got their act together on quality, as reflected in the census.Read More
