The 1850-C half eagle was produced in large numbers for a Charlotte issue, 63,591 coins, and the availability of circulated pieces, up to low-end AU quality, makes it a popular type coin choice. Uncirculated survivors are extremely difficult to locate, probably numbering in single digits.
