Introduction of Coins
A massive mintage has made this issue quite common in average Mint State grades, but top grade gems are more elusive than most other silver dimes of the late 1950s through 1964. Numerous bagmarks are the primary cause, as 1963-D dimes were traded by the bag for years and were thus subject to frequent contact with one another. Given the large number of dies required for such a vast production, this issue is surprisingly short of collectable varieties. The nices of these is a bold doubled-die reverse.Read More
