Introduction of Coins
Although not issued for circulation, this coin was included in 1996 Uncirculated Set sold by the US Mint. It was made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Roosevelt Dime, which had been in circulation since 1946. Its inclusion in the set boosted sales of the Uncirculated Mint Set to 1,457,949, but still left this coin as the lowest mintage non-proof Roosevelt Dime in the series. It is also the only version of a US circulating coin struck with a W mintmark.Read More
