Introduction of Coins
Despite its modest mintage the 1929-S dime is common in all circulated grades. Mint State pieces are also more available than one would expect through MS-65. Most of these lack Full Bands, though even FB coins are not truly rare. A minor doubled-die obverse variety is known affecting the date and motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The rarity of such varieties within the Mercury Dime is the only reason that this one attracts so much collector attention.Read More
