Introduction of Coins
Disenchantment among collectors with America's current coins had been growing, and 1907's sales of proof dimes were among the lowest of the Barber series. Not surprisingly, this date is rare with respect to all but a few others 1892-1915. Despite the limited number of survivors overall, the 1907 proof dime has a disproportionate population of gems. Nearly all are fully brilliant in fields and devices, though a few may reveal some frosting on the reverse. Cameo examples have been certified, but these typically show less contrast than a Cameo of the 1890s.Read More
