With just 10,000 Philadelphia Mint dimes produced for circulation in 1865, most collectors will have to rely on a proof specimen to represent this issue. Some 500 proofs were coined, and most of these survive in various states of preservation. Those that are too impaired to receive a numeric grade are not included in the census data below.
