Despite a mintage of some half million pieces, the 1850 O dime is noticeably scarce in the higher circulated grades and rare in Mint State. Gems are essentially unknown. Three different mintmark sizes appear on this issue. Since dies were prepared in similar batches, these oddities represent several generations of leftover reverses.
