Introduction of Coins
The low mintage of this issue is a clear indicator of rarity, though this has been exaggerated over the years. In the 1930s and '40s a writer for a popular magazine deemed this issue to be the "Little Orphan Annie" dime and heavily promoted it. Though indeed quite scarce, it is not a great rarity. Well worn examples are usually available, though grades above Fine will be quite challenging. Those pieces surviving in Mint State tend to be well struck.Read More
