Introduction of Coins
The 1849-O is the second rarest New Orleans eagle from the 1840s and one of the scarcest No Motto eagles from this mint. Most survivors are in the Very Fine to Extremely Fine range and AU coins are rare with around 12-15 pieces known. We have never seen an unequivocally Mint State example and just one or two that grade AU 58.
