Introduction of Coins
The 1875 ten dollar is a well known, some might even say, legendary rarity in the ten dollar Coronet series. It is so rare that very few collectors or dealers have ever seen one. Only 100 business strikes were originally produced plus 20 proofs. Only 5-6 business strikes may be extant today in all grades, and at least two of those are in very low grades (Jake Bell and Adolph Menjou both had pieces that graded Good). Proofs are almost as scarce with an estimated 7-8 pieces believed known today.
