Although the Philadelphia Mint pumped out nearly 18 million Morgan dollars in 1885, they were still able to produce some 236,100 business strike $10 gold eagles. The proof mintage was not nearly as large however, at only 60 pieces. Today, the mint state issues are readily available through MS62, but become much rarer in MS63.
