Introduction of Coins

The 1944-D quarter dollar is among the more appealing issues in the silver Washington series. Typical of Denver Mint coins from this period, most examples are well struck from fresh or moderately worn dies, displaying excellent luster. Even at the MS 67 level this date/mint is plentiful, and a 1944-D quarter is a good candidate for one's type set. There are numerous DDO varieties, with a somewhat lower number of DDR varieties. Most are quite minor and of interest solely to variety specialists. A few RPMs also may be found for 1944-D.Read More
