Overton varieties 101 and 102 are comprised of two distinct die pairs, and a faint trace of a numeral 1 is barely visible within the second 2. These attributions as overdates are speculative, but the hobby has traditionally labeled them as such. O-101 is common, and this marriage is the one priced in popular catalogs. O-102 is scarce and carries an additional premium among specialists. Mint State examples of either variety are rare, with gems being nearly unknown.
